SCSI drives

Go to solution Solved by 3EP,

Lots of SCSI drives on eBay. Cheap too.

So just picked up a DL380 G3 and a G4 for super cheap, with no drives. They both take SCSI drives which i've never even heard of until today. Anyone know where to get any(UK)? Preferably cheap.

I ilke trains.

Please don't tell be you bought those servers for more than 40 UK measures of currency... (pounds maybe?)

Phew! Thought you might have gotten screwed like many other people have here before with old hardware. Yeah, scsi pretty much died in the early 2000's. I think the max capacity of a scsi drive is like 172 GB. You might be able to find some drives at your local pc recycling place, or ebay.

Yeah Ebay looks like the best option, I'll look in some of the stores when I'm out.

300GB seems to be the max (After a quick interweb browse)

No worries. I still have an HP ML110 G4 in the garage that'll be going to the tip soon.

I tried Windows server 2008 R2 on it a couple of years back and it wouldn't work, so off to server heaven it goes.

Sure. But I no longer have any need for a server. I still have a gen8 microserver sitting collecting dust too, that also needs to be sold.

I take it you're learning?

Yeah, started just over a year ago. I've always had an interest in IT and computers and Networking has become my main focus, quite pleased with what I've taught myself so far tbh :D

Glad to hear it as the U.K is lacking in the IT department. Where in the U.K are you?

Shame you're not on my doorstep (Cheshire) as I would have given you that ML110 G4 for nothing.

Server heaven it is then ;)
