Hello!

So after a while (i think) i finished my PC build. I have been to nearby store and the guy told me that the shipment will be free which is not the issue, customs will be a huge issue. I live in Serbia, and he told me that the customs will cost really much. I wanted to ask if that is true and if so is there a way to avoid it or at least lower the price of the customs.

The PC that i want to buy is

If the parts need to come from the US, then Customs will be an issue.  If you can find them locally at a slightly higher price (somewhere around 5% more), that might be the safer option.

If I buy parts in the US, I usually get slapped with a 21% import tax (the regular amount they raise on products over here) + 10 EUR handling charges per package.

In Serbia parts are much more expensive, and there are not much parts to pick from. For example a random GPU GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1070 which cost 459.99$ (on newegg), here same thing cost ~670$, which is 210$ more, and that is just for GPU

But what happens if i buy parts from Europe? How much will customs cost then?

The Gigabyte 1070 is 469 EUR here in Belgium (489 for the G1, 559 for the Extreme).  That's little over $500 (525 for the G1, 600 for the Extreme)

Unless I'm very much mistaken Serbia isn't in the EU yet, so you're going to have Customs charges too.  How much depends on the amount of import taxes that you normally pay in Serbia.  (I believe it's 10% on electronics, but not sure so you may have to check for yourself).  Add around $10 to that (couriers and postal services always charge a handling fee for items that go through Customs)

I was so happy at the moment, now my heart is broken. Yeah Serbia is not in EU, and its 10% and then with that price you include 20% PDV, and after that i have to pay some other fees. Which in total will cost me like $600+, Sigh i hate my country and life now lol, i have to try to find a way around it.

My father goes every now and then to Germany, i will try to ship it there and maybe he can hide it somewhere and not pay for customs and other fees. Yeah that is illegal and not good, but still... (Sorry for bringing this up!)

Thanks for answering dude!

Ordering local vs ordering from US will be almost at same price after customs and shipping. Just shipping will be $100-150+. As for customs, check your border controls sites.
