Having trouble with DisplayPort

I recently bought a new 1440p 144hz monitor, Pixio PX277 to be exact.  I have a Asus Strix 1070 Overclocked as my GPU.  I have tried hooking up my monitor to my GPU with the included DisplayPort cable.  It seems to have a mind of its own... Sometimes it works, then it randomly loses signal.  The monitor works perfectly with HDMI, but I know I am not getting the full 144hz of the monitor while using HDMI.  I'm thinking it is just a bad DisplayPort cable that came included with the monitor, but I haven't had the time to go to the store and pick up another DisplayPort or DVI-D cable.

Anyone else had this problem?

The connector on the gpu/monitor could be bad, unlikely tho. Its probably the cable, you COULD use a Dual-Link DVI cable if they both have those.

The DP is very sensitive when you have to push it to its limit. You need to make sure to get quality cable to push those Hz because cheap DP cable wont provide you with clean signal.

I cant hovever guarantee you that this is the problem but it is the most likely.

Generaly the included cables should work just fine but there may be some issue with yours.
