English attack or english attack?

Go to solution Solved by Dave :),

English with a capital.

I'm writing an essay and I know that in french if you're referring to the people such as the english or scottish you don't capitalize it but if it's the country then you do. So in english does it work the same way making it the english attack or would it be the English attack (i'm speaking of their army composed of mostly english and some scottish as this is a Macbeth essay)
