iPhone SE vs. Samsung J7 vs. Huawei P9

Rammin_Speed

Hello there,

So my old iPhone 4 broke (yep, old as hell). And I'm now in the market for buying a new one. My options are basically iPhone SE, Samsung J7, and Huawei P9.

Out of those three, I'd personally choose the Huawei P9. The flexibility of Android and the better hardware is what really sells it over the other two.

I also vote for the P9. It performs very well and has amazing battery life.

The Android skin is really similar to iOS so switching should be easy.

I can't support Huawei, so if say the iPhone or Samsung. My wife has the SE. She loves it. It isn't bulky like the 6+. Otherwise,  I like my Samsung phones

If you take a lot of video, I'd go with the SE if you want to stay Apple, or J7 if you want to go Android.

If you don't take much video, go for the P9.

Why is the J7 there? Doesn't really seem to be in the same price category as the rest.

I don't really trust those new Chinese phones. The Chinese government as well as other manufacturers in China have stolen other companies designs, saving tons of money.

Huawei hs already been in a bunch of lawsuits because of trade secret theft.

I don't think it's coincidence that they come out with these "great" phones to compete with Samsung, Apple, and other top manufacturers at half the price, when the factories for those other companies are also in China, and the same factories that Huawei uses.

Samsung, Apple, Motorola, etc... spend a bunch of money on R&D, and the phones are built in China. Huawei doesn't have to spend money on R&D since these companies are ready did. You just have to steal the manufacturing process.

I don't trust them. I'd rather pay full price for a phone that is developed legitimately than one I feel is filled with stolen secrets and is designed to undercut the rest of the market.

I wouldn't really lump every Chinese company in the same boat. Has OnePlus stolen designs? No.

One of the only Huawei lawsuit I could find pertained to a TMobile testing robot. If you read the actual complaint, while the engineer did do something wrong, it was to assist in the vetting process TMobile used. There was Samsungs filings, but they didn't bother listing what patents. They were camera and other component based, and in retaliation for lawsuits Huawei filed against them. They're likely just feeling threatened as they chip away market share.

Huawei does lots of things that the other companies don't. Dual camera, for instance. Granted the new iPhone does, but not before Huawei. Their designs are unique to them. They also have their own processors. Very few companies do that.

Huawei also isn't by any means a new company, they've been around for 30 years.

Did you know that Huawei spends more than Apple on R&D? So. I guess Apple is just as shit, if not more, no?

Motorola is a Chinese company.

Tell me, what exactly has Huawei used that didn't require R&D?
