GPU not working?

Hi, i got this PC and put a new HDD and GPU in it

But when i connected my display to the VGA connector

NOTHING showed up on the screen

Is my GPU broken?

Is there a sign its working if theirs NO os on the system?

What gpu is it? The new nvidia 10 series no longer support vga.  Are you connecting to the mother board video output or gpu directly? Did you make sure the pcie power connectors are fully seated?

Its a 75W card so it uses the PCIe Slot

Yes it did before i added the GPU

Try connecting the motherboard's DVI or VGA to your monitor while the GPU is installed to see if it's still using the iGPU.  From there we can try a few other things.

That's fine, it may help narrow things down for us. 

 

I would try a different video cable or a different port on the card.  The card may be working and just isn't outputting video properly.

If you're able to test the card in another PC or test another card in that PC, this would probably tell us sooner if the card is just bad.

I did a CMOS reset (like you said)

And this time i connected to the GPU and in the BIOS it says

"active video: nvidia"
