Hi, I've put my IGPU as auto in my bios as I am wanting to use quick sync but then when I go to detect it only still shows my screen and no other ones. Is there a reason why.

Thanks

Because it needs to be set to manual.

My native language is C++

does it show up in device manager? You don't need other screens.

What gpu?

No realy reason to use quicksync if you have a nvidia or amd card as they both have there own encoders.

It shows up as Intel HD graphics 530 (i5-6600k) I have a dedicated gpu which is a R9 290X. Oh I am wanting to use it for OBS or XSplit Broadcaster as I do not want my CPU to do the encoding and I prefer to let the internal GPU.

The 290 already has a deticaded encoder on the chip, thats only used for encoding and won't hurt performance at all.

If it shows up in device manager you can use it.

Can I use that for encoding for Xsplit or OBS then.

From my personal experience the video quality of the R9 290X is pretty bad.

If you want to use quicksync, set your integrated graphics to enabled in the bios.

If you use Windows 10, it should now be available for quicksync (although you might need to instal Intel graphics drivers / wait for windows update to install them).

In Windows 7 (and Windows 8 too?) you need to add an invisible screen in windows control panel to be able to use the integrated graphics when you're using a graphics card at the same time.

Desktop: Intel i9-10850K (R9 3900X died 😢 )| MSI Z490 Tomahawk | RTX 2080 (borrowed from work) - MSI GTX 1080 | 64GB 3600MHz CL16 memory | Corsair H100i (NF-F12 fans) | Samsung 970 EVO 512GB | Intel 665p 2TB | Samsung 830 256GB| 3TB HDD | Corsair 450D | Corsair RM550x | MG279Q

Laptop: Surface Pro 7 (i5, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD)

Console: PlayStation 4 Pro

Oh but it does not show the extra screen in screen resolution though, so I am not able to make it connect to vga. Thanks
