I've been thinking of upgrading my Graphics card for a little while and i think i may have settled on getting a GTX 1070, But viewing the current GPU prices on the new Nvidia line of GPU"s I've found that they are either out of stock or well beyond MSRP some are peaking at $500-600 USD in the case of the 1070, which is far beyond the MSRP. What are your thoughts? Should you buy now or wait and hope prices drop?

It's because of the demand that the price is increased. Wait for the new architecture to be announced and the 10 series will plummet.

Main PC CPU: 7700K, MOBO: Asus Strix, GPU: Aorus Extreme 3080, PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Storage: 970 Evo 1tb

The same thing could be said for the 9 series and it has stayed relatively stable in comparison.

There's a few reason for the terrible pricing.  First Nvidia Fucked up and priced their Founder Edition GPUs higher then what they expected the board partners to price theirs at, but no good board partner is going to sell their gpu's cheaper then the Founders editions (reference gpus) as they are going to see their gpus as better then them.  Another reason is AMD has no GPU out in the highend to compete with nvidia so they can just sell them at whatever they want too.

I'm in the same boat as you been wanting to upgrade but fuck paying $800 CAD for a regular 1080, so I'm waiting for AMD to hopefully shake things up.

Case - NZXT H6 Flow : Mobo - ASRock X670E PG Lightning : PSU - Deepcool PX1000G : CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D w/Arctic Freezer III 360  : Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32gb 6000mhz CL30 : GPU - MSI Expert 4080 Super : Storage - Verbatim Vi7000G 4tb NVME SSD  : Displays - Gigabyte 32" M32QC Curved 165hz & 27" M27Q Pro 165hz 1440p

The 980 Ti plummeted when the 10 series was announced. I paid $1200aud for a 980 Ti a bit after they came out then when the 10 series was announced and they dropped below $1000aud.
