So, I have learned from both statistics and experience, that my school is bad academically. And I really doubt my success in the future.

Now I'm not here to complain about how bad the school is, because it's not their fault. Moreover, I want to ask about how I can.. succeed own my own.

There's a lot of people on this website that obviously knows more than me, hence why I want to ask you guys.

So, how can I work to be successful in the future, such as... I don't know...crucial things like ACT?

Note: The school I have alone, is not enough. It's.. bad. The proficiency rate is pretty low.

I assume you're still in primary schooling, and plan to move on to college?

I really only know the system here in America, but regardless of what high school you go to you are pretty much guaranteed access to a community college so long as you graduate.

Assuming you can apply yourself and graduate (which has very little to do with teachers and more to do with yourself and your work ethic) then you can move onto a community college and get basic degree work out of the way. From there your horizons open up far more than just trying to get into a major university straight out of highschool.

If you apply yourself and take advantage of the system available to you then you can get pretty much anywhere. It's going to be hard, and you're not always going to like it, you'll probably very rarely enjoy it... But if you want to chase your dreams then it's going to take work.

Aw man, then you're golden.

Just get your stuff done while in middle school, and when you get to highschool really apply yourself. Work hard, and graduate near top of your class and your horizons will still be wide open.

Even if you don't graduate near top, a community college will still accept you so long as you graduated in the 4 years.

Community college?

My goal has high standards, and a community college is bad.

My goal is to go to a good university, not a community college.

Then wait a few years and stress about it later.

Who knows, by the time you graduate, you might want to do something completely different.

Also, mind not putting excessive blank lines between lines of text? It just wastes space and doesn't contribute to what you're saying.

Seems you haven't quite figured it out yet.

Going to Community College for a year or two to take care of general education credits and possibly some credits that could count towards your planned major at a university, then transfer to the university afterwards is a much better idea than just going for four or more years at a university. You'll save a lot of money, and you'll end up with the same degree.

For artistic positions, they'd usually be more interested in work you've done and what you're capable of rather than what university or college you went to and what degree you got.

You're in middle school. No university is gonna care about middle school, unless you're trying to get into the toughest program at the very best university in the Country.

You won't have any idea what kinds of Universities you're gonna get into until at least part way through High School. Your grades there (And I assume your SAT scores - I don't know, I'm Canadian) will determine mostly what Universities you can apply to and reasonably expect to get accepted.

At this point, simply hope that the High School you go to is better then the Middle School you're in. If, when you get to High School (9th Grade in America), you find that you're not prepared due to the previous schooling, I would then get a private tutor to bring you up to speed.

What @Atmos was talking about with the Community College thing, is assuming you graduate from a High School with a terrible reputation, and/or you don't have good grades.

Basically, if you cannot get into the University you want, you should instead go to Community College first, then with the degree/diploma earned at the Community College, you can get into a lot more Universities.

But, assuming you graduate High School with good grades, you'll have your pick of decent Universities. If you want the best University, then you should probably already have a Private Tutor, and you should be following some sort of general plan that ensures your application will cover all the right things (Like being a member of a club, volunteering, having part time work experience, playing an instrument, etc).

I personally don't find that to be particularly useful information. Yes, assuming he can land an internship, that's a good direction. But Pixar (or similar companies) are only going to be accepting the best candidates into their internship positions.

Now the OP is only in middle school, so honestly, no one will have any idea about his chances of getting a job at Pixar for probably another 6+ years.

A community college is only a stepping stone along the path that eases your way.

While there you generally get most of your General Education or GE work out of the way, and if you finish up and get an AA degree then that's far more enticing for a major university to pick up.

An employer won't care what CC you went to, so long as you got your degree and graduated from a major university, that's all they want to see. If you don't think it can be done, then you're sadly mistaken my man. Just last semester I was taking a lecture lab with a part-time professor who works at Nasa's Jet propulsion lab or JPL, as a theoretical physicist. They too didn't graduate from a great highschool, or with even great grades; but they went into a community college, worked their ass off and transfered over to Berkeley.

Nowadays it makes far more sense for people to go to a CC and get done the universal general education courses which are going to cost a 1/10th as much, then transfer over for their actual degree work at a major university. I as well didn't do that great in highschool and would never have been accepted out of the gate to the university I currently attend. But because I took the significantly less costly though slightly more time consuming path of going to a CC for two years to get my GE and leave with an Associates Degree, I was accepted without any hickup whatsoever, over fresh out of highschool kids with 4.0gpas. People like me and many, many others who get all those courses out of the way are more prized by universities. We're far less of an investment, and thus offer greater returns for them.

There's still a stigma about CC's in the US and abroad, I get that. But the system is there to help you and get you running even with a shaky start, why not use it?

Well, my goal is work at Pixar, which has very high standards. High goals call for a good college.

Therefore, tuition is not the primary factor to decide. Getting into a good college from a community college is too much of a risk to take.

Too much of a risk? How can you even know what kind of risk it is, when you haven't even started high school yet?

If you want to get into a good University, then we've already explained what to do. Work really hard, get top grades, speak to a career counsellor, speak to a University Recruiter, find out all the "extra" things they like to see on the application form.

If you don't get accepted, then go into Community College, get your AA, then reapply to the same university.

The point is, if you have excellent grades straight out of high school, your odds will be good. If you have excellent grades in high school, PLUS an AA from a Community College, your odds will be even better.
