help What partition style should I use for my SSD?

Hello,

I finished installing my Samsung SSD and needed to do a Secure Erase because of some issues.

 

I was wondering whether I should set the the partion to MBR or GPT? I will be Migrating my current C Partition over to the M.2 drive later.

 

I do not have a product key because this was a laptop and I do not plan on buying or reinstalling a fresh copy of windows without a key.

In the past I had very bad issues with my ssd being unusable with a constant flickering screen when I booted it and samsung was horrible at helping. After a month they finally told me to stop using their own software.

You can assign any letter you wish to any drive, so boot drive can be any letter C, D, E, F,...

 

You can use Macrium Reflect to migrate. But I would do clean install just to be sure

 

How is the drive? Run crystaldiskinfo and check if the drive is healthy

If I clean install how would I get the product keys? Also How would I install it? Ive installed OS's Hundreds of times on computers but never on one with multiple drives.

You don't have to enter the key, it will auto activate no problem. Just choose your SSD when doing so

Would it auto activate if I took out the hdd before I installed the OS? Also Does the Crystalmarkinfo look fine?

Yes the windows is tied to mobo not to the drive.

Yes the result is good

Alright and I will not need to worry about windows 8 being installed correct?
