What to do with big PC?

Length and height don't matter, the problem is the computer we bought 8 years ago is 3" thin, and our desk also includes a printer, so around 6" width, which I know is probably really little to have a asus 1060 dual in.

Wow, only 6" width to work with... that's a big mistake you made there with the case then :o

IMO you would probably be better off getting a bigger desk at this point.. if not it is going to cost you big time. You are looking at either having to get a slim case, which will limit the cooling available and possibly graphics cards too, but you could get a riser cable to sort that out with a bit of tinkering.

I seriously would just look at either re-arranging your desk layout if possible, or changing the desk completely... I was never happy with the desk choices out there that were affordable, so I ended up building my own.

[edit] Just saw your post above... why do you have to sell the PSU?... but anyway a case change is no big deal, just do it a bit at a time to get your cable management correct and double check everything.

I recently built my first PC and I noticed the case is too big for where its going, the last resort is buying a bigger desk, but I was wondering if I could sell it, but the to problems are

1. If I sell it (it cost $827 to build without OS) to a non-tech/gaming person, I'm pretty sure they won't need a GTX 1060 6GB (I guess I would sell it for 1K?)

2. If I do try sell it to a tech savvy person, I wouldn't make any profit, I'd probably end up losing some or making very little.

Any thoughts?

You could just sell the case and transplant the PC into a smaller case.

The problem is the MOBO is mATX (Glad I didn't go for a ATX), and isn't mATX just a shorter form of ATX cases?

You're correct. If you really want to scale down, you'll need an ITX board.

Yeah, but an mATX case would be smaller than an S340. mATX cases also come in all shapes and sizes. A Fractal Design Node 804, for example, might be small enough, or something like a Cooler Master N200.

There are plenty of mATX cases that are way smaller than that s340. I agree with the suggestion for one of the fractal node cases... or go with a different cube case maybe. What is the desktop size that it has to fit into ideally?

I found a case (Silverstone RVZ02B) It meets my needs, problem is I would need take apart my PC, sell the case and PSU, and rebuild it.

I might as well just buy the new desk, because the desk I'm using is starting to show its age.

Rule of thumb, if it only supports sfx PSU then it's not going to support m-ATX mobos

The problem is the MOBO is mATX (Glad I didn't go for a ATX), and isn't mATX just a shorter form of ATX cases?

That doesnt tell us anything about the size of the case and desk. What case and mobo do you have?
