APC ones are good. real good. Might be a bit more expensive than other brands, but there's a reason for that.

People say that power surge can transmit through ethernet cables.Is there any difference between these APC surge protectors?They have different surge energy ratings (if that means anything)?

SER is basically how big of a surge it can handle. Usually the higher the better, afaik
