I am wondering if I should update my processor for my computer. Just got a new mobo last year so I'm going to stay with the lga 1155 but I am thinking of going from the 2600 to the 3770. good idea, bad idea? the searching I have done suggests the 3770 is better all around with performance power savings and such. should I go new or get a used or refurbished? prices are all over the place. planning on upgrading to a 1050 or 1060 graphics card at some point and possibly some vr in the future. shoot me some ideas guy, thanks

Bad idea. No real difference in performance. Keep the 2600.

What GPU do you have right now?

i5 12600KF | Zotac RTX 4080 Gaming trinity | Team Vulcan 2x16GB DDR4 3600 | ASRock Z690M-ITX/ac | WD Black SN850x 2TB

Cooler Master NR200P v2 | ID Cooling Zoomflow 280 XT | SeaSonic Focus SGX-750 | Thermalright 2x140mm + 2x120mm aRGB

LG C2 OLED 48" 120hz | Epomaker TH80 (Gateron Yellow) | Logitech MX Master 3 | Koss Porta Pro Comm

I think the ram power usage and temp tolerances are enough to at least consider it. don't need a K model since 3.9 turbo boost is good enough for me right now.
