so What makes this cpu $1000 intel Core i7-5960X Haswell-E 8-Core 3.0 GHz LGA 2011-v3 140W BX80648I75960X Desktop Processor that price compared to $500 Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor i'm gaming mostly on this computer i'm building but its got a 5 to 7k budget kinda a over kill build for fun but if i can save money on the processor that's a plus so would these be able to handle gaming at all assuming they ran at stock clock and what sets them apart

The 5960X has 2 more cores thus 2 more HT threads (so 4 more threads), more cache and that's about it.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

newer achetecture, mildly better performace, nothing too big, but if you are going for that budget, why not.

so basicly they  hike up the price by 500 for more cores when most games only support 4 am i right?

im not talking about the 6950x. nobody in their right mind yould buy one. the 6850k and 6900k are the sweet spot. but yes that is right for the 6950x

People who are in the market for these processors usually 1. know what they're doing and 2. aren't going to use their computers only to play games.

Shows specifics...

They're both defiantly creative processors for streaming, maybe doing like video editing and what not or CAD like software (solidworks) but could also be used for gaming etc.. and still be able to handle a lot of tasks on the side..

You could EASILY get away with the i7-5930K and be just fine.. buying the 5960 is WAY overkill and you wouldn't really notice a different bwtween the 2 processors unless u were doing heavy CAD work or something super taxing on the system.. Gaming/Streaming would work perfect for the 5930k.

first of all, why you going haswell-e wher broadwell-e is available, also, wait for zen for price drops and stuff.

Haswell-E is usually cheaper, the IPC difference is pathetic, it doesn't require a BIOS update on older X99 boards, and both can see similar overclocks under the same conditions.

So, why go Broadwell-E if Haswell-E is cheaper.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.
