Difference between ddr3 and ddr4

Hello! I have 8 gigs of ram working in dual-channel at 2133mhz. Is there advantages of ddr4 with same clock speeds and timings?

Yes, lower power consumption and more bandwidth.

Yes.  The computer automatically slows down the faster module to the speed of the slower one, so you should always have identical modules.

That's good.  If you decide to double your RAM, go with the same ones.

 

Edit: Lol fail on my part.  I'm sleepy and I somehow skipped the title.  I just thought you were asking if it was okay to mix and match DDR4 sticks.

Some motherboards/CPU's force you to use newer DDR4 Ram, so while it may not be an advantage to use it, you'll be forced to anyway.

DDR4 is slightly better however as stated above, with more bandwidth and faster speeds.

Something also pretty nice is if you choose to store files on RAM, it is faster on DDR4 than DDR3.

Plus any CPU intensive tasks are going to benefit from faster RAM.
