$4500 (Summer Job)

Hello, This summer I will be selling my computer (I5, gtx980) for $1300 CAD. I will also be working at a local collision center, where I will get the rest of the money for the build. (Note the build list does not need tax... already took that away from the total [$5000 with tax which is 1.13]) I already have a kit of 32GB of DDR4 in 2x16GB Kit. Also will want 2x 25" LG monitors (have a 27" asus one). BTW I live in Canada... :(. I will be using the rig for video editing, photo editing, 3d modeling, and gaming. I have Windows 10 Pro key already, 1TB HDD, 120GB SSD, Keyboard and mouse. If possible I would like 2 NIC's on the motherboard plz (or by card). I don't care for the size. I am a experience builder, but with all the new components out on the market, and ryzen around the corner, I have no Idea what to with the components, Plz help. (starting to get stuff during march break).

I would recommend a skylake or kabylake with either z170 or z270. The power supply you could go with a safe 600 watts.

CPU: i7-6700k                                                                                                                                                                      RAM: 16GB-DDR4

GPU: GTX 1050ti                                                                                                                                                            Headphones: ATH-M10

Keyboard: Corsair Strafe RGB                                                                                                                    Recently Played: Rise of the Tomb Raider

Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013                                                                                                                         Currently Playing: Simulators

RyZen is said to be launching at the end of February or sometime around there so you may have more than one option for a CPU. This can't be confirmed though but it would be reasonable. I would recommend waiting for RyZen at this point as it's just around the corner and you won't be buying parts until March. What GPU are you thinking about getting?

i would replace the mobo and cpu with the 8 core ryzen and an am4 mobo if it proves to be about the performance of a 6850k or the 6900k - titan x pascal isn't in stock in canada rn, but i would wait or go with a 1080ti when it comes out

Then there's even less reason for you to be planning now.

Exactly how much video editing are you going to be doing?

I really think you'd be better off spending half that on a PC, and saving the rest for something else.

PCs at that price point rarely make financial sense, as there's a lot of wasted money that you'll never get back.

The value simply isn't there. You'll get the same performance out of something costing thousands less.

I built a friend of mine a PC for photo editing. Except he did it on the side, professionally, making a couple thousand dollars a month. The cost of his rig? $1,200.
