You also have to factor in price of Z170/Z270 and X99 mobo too but 5820k gets my vote too

no!! that's ''gaming and rendering'' and they again test using fucking adobe crap and shit...for a workstation machine, you don't watch newbie youtuber videos (this guy built his first computer last year or something...i mean...come on...because he can make a video and upload it to youtube does not suddently make him an expert in any ways.) if you want to know...you ask people who've been in computer for over 25 years and use them for gaming, rendering AND workstation daily.,..AKA you ask me...5820K >>> 6700/7700 whatever quad-core for a workstation machine...all day every day.

This video is all about justifying why he downgraded from a 5820K to a 6700K IMO.....

it's quite simple...if you build a workstation PC you know you will multi-task, handle heavy multi-threaded workloads, sometimes many of them at once...there is NO WAY a +5% increase in IPC can outweight a +50% core increase.

i7-5820k is getting quite a bit of praise, but the 6700k could be a better option when also accounting for the motherboard price.  Looks like these two will have to tussle a little bit for me to make a decision.

Just get an AsRock X99 Extreme3/Extreme4. They cost pretty much the same as most decent Z170 boards...

The Delta between stock and overclock is:

• 1.3GHz for the 5820K
• 0.6GHz for the 6700K
• 0.8GHz for the 7700K
