Not sure if anyone from this forum is playing BDO, but I have few questions about it.

First I would like to ask if anyone mannaged to get some kind of FPS overlay working? I tried like 5 differend programs and non of them works. Some people say that it work if you run game via Steam. Well it doesn't work for me.

Then other players say that nvidia shadowplay can show fps overlay in BDO ... once again it doesn't work me. I just can't figure out why non of the FPS overlay programs won't work.

That's what I can see in all other games with CAM software from NZXT, but for some reason it doesn't work in BDO.

And one more question ... how the hell do you get 60fps stable in this game. In a bit more populated areas my fps goes down to 20-30 even if I use the lowest settings possible. And my CPU + GPU usage are both under 60%, so plenty hardware power to get more fps ... it's DX11 game with some weird engine, but it should support multithreading to increase performance.

Any clue?

It's probably capped in those high population areas by your single thread performance. it only has a few threads, so it can't use 100% of your cpu because it can't be evenly distributed over all your cores. The game's main logic thread is probably using 100% of one of your cores and that's where your low fps is coming from.

MMOs generally are CPU bound, and even more of the time in populated areas there's nothing you can do about the performance as it'll bring any system to its knees.

I think you should try windowed borderless mode to get the overlays to work.

Well MSI afterburner is now showing fps overlay after I put it on borderless windowed mode, so thanks for that :)

I did quick test about that. Task manager is showing that all cores have similar usage. So it doesn't seem like it's taking power from single core only.

And I also tried to set clock on 4GHz for all cores, and then to 4,8GHz to see if there is any difference. I get same results, so I don't think better CPU with single core performance would be better (like i7 7700k at 5GHz).

Well that just sucks.

I quited playing Guild Wars 2 and WoW just because that FPS drop is so annoying when I went to 100vs100 battles.

Just want to play MMORPG game with tons of quests, dynmic events, open world, huge fights, hourly bosses and stable 60fps. Seems like that's too much to ask :(

I just hope someone will decide to make that kind of MMORPG game with DX12/Vulkan and put all the heave workload on GPU instead of CPU. If that's even possible.
