Yep, with the exception of Watch_dogs 2, but you need a Titan XP to get more than 60fps at 1080p, so, I wouldn't say that it is properly optimized... xD

Well, that, and a 6950X at 6GHz under LN2 because apparently it's also a CPU hog.

Ye ole' train

More like 7GHz 6950X and Titan XP SLI at 3000MHz xD

For GTA V on high settings you will need some serious power, maxed out might be problematic but for high settings it seems your best bet currently is a 1070 especially with stepping up to 1440p in the future. Future looking is difficult, but upcoming games get more demanding, so it might be a better option to get some headroom. Otherwise you will run into limits of either the 1060 and 480 for your planned requirements relative soon most likely, unless you don't gonna play future games :)

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

can they?

GTX 1060 or RX 480 can do 1440p Gaming but this would mean having to tweak the settings a fair bit in order to get somewhere around 60FPS in demanding titles.

1440p gaming is really worth it and 27'' monitors are perfect for that resolution it's a really nice step-up from a 1080p screen and i highly recommend it if you can do it it's worth every penny...so IF you can afford a GTX 1070 right now instead and then start saving for a monitor upgrade down the road i would strongly recommend you do that...you get a MUCH more powerful GPU that can run the latest games on ultra settings at a locked 60FPS and more...i use an overclocked 980ti myself which perform similar to a 1070 and i can run all my games at 80FPS+ and it's stupid smooth.

The GTR is the best RX480 without a doubt, but you can't be 100% sure that you will get 1400MHz+, you do have a higher chance of getting that frequency than any other RX480 though....

Well i see allot of people state that the XFX RX480 GTR´s are the best RX480´s.

But in my opinion they aren´t.

Some people seem to get some good overclocking results with them.

However that is really a matter of silicon luck.

Because i also read other stories.

Basicly they are nothing more then a higher priced HiS RX480 Roaring.

they are exact the same cards.

About its overclock potential, you are spot on, there is definitely no guarantee that you will reach similar overclockes that other people like JayzTwoCents who seem to have started a hype about these cards,

has reached in his video.

If you take a closer look the the pcb, then i can allready see that the vrm implementation definitelly isnt the greatest of the RX480´s atall.

The IR6811 direct on highside and IR6894 lowside fets used for the main gcore voltage, are not really the most efficient ones.

They have a pretty good efficiency, untill the vrm gets over 90°C.

Then they arent that efficient and great anymore.

The vrm on this card is really temperature sensitive for that matter, It needs a decent cool down.

Those direct on mosfets are nutorious for running extremely hot.

Next to that i´m personally also not a great fan of the mosfets used on the memory vr, which are from Sinopower.

i cant remember the type numbers of those atm out of my head.

But the ratings are 35A for highside and 38A for lowside at 100°C on those Sinopower fets.

So allthough the vrm design on the XFX card is decent.

But its not the best vrm on an RX480.

The best RX480 in terms of pcb design by far is the Asus RX480 StriX OC.

From which the IR3555 powerstages are rated upto 60A each at pretty much any given temperature upto 125°C ish.

But also the memory vr is better.
