Screen Hz at 60? Any 480 or 1060 will do for most games. Want higher you need to check 1070 or 1080 even in certain cases.

The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

RX480 all the way. Get an XFX RX480 GTR if it's in your price range (or an MSI one). Those cards OC like a madman.

Usually, but there is no guarantee that you will reach the same clock speeds as someone else.....

I haven't seen a GTR that doesn't do 1400+ MHz on the core. That is, after the October revision. 1266->1400 MHz is quite a difference.

The GTR is the best RX480 without a doubt, but you can't be 100% sure that you will get 1400MHz+, you do have a higher chance of getting that frequency than any other RX480 though....

I would advise against getting a RX480 right now though. People, myself included, have been experiencing gray screen crashes with no sure fix in sight. I have a Sapphire Radeon Nitro OC+ that keeps crashing even with a ton of drivers and a gold rated PSU.

I'm convinced it really is the best card in its range for me but there's something weird going on that stopping it from being so.

Have you tried using older drivers? I must be lucky because of all the problems people have been experiencing since Polaris came out, the only one I've had is unstable OC with relive drivers.

Yes. From 16.1.1 up to 17.1.1.  Driver 16.8.3 even included that same problem in its "Fixed" section but that didn't help at all.

Do you use HDMI or display port? Most of the problems I've seen are wth people using HDMI. I'm not sure what AMD fucked up about their HDMI. Have you tried reinstalling OS?

HDMI. I don't have Display Port. How would that be a factor though? I had it with DVI before I bought a FreeSync monitor and it had the same problem then. Was more frequent with the HDMI though.

I'm going to have to wait for next for the card to return to me because I had it RMA'd but can you explain to me how that would affect my gpu? I

GTA V: GTX 1060

Euro Truck/ American Truck sim: IDK, but I would guess the GTX 1060 because of DX11...

BeamNG: GTX 1060

The Division: RX 480

Battlefield 4/ Hardline: GTX 1060

Need for Speed: Equal

Idk, I would get the GTX 1060 6GB, especially for GTA and Battlefield....

Well, a GTX 1060 6GB/RX 480 8GB can get more than 60fps in most AAA titles at 1440p....

Yep, with the exception of Watch_dogs 2, but you need a Titan XP to get more than 60fps at 1080p, so, I wouldn't say that it is properly optimized... xD
