What's your ambient temperature? Still seems super high for water cooling. My temps are cooler on air...

My guess is that there are too many rads and not enough pumps. Try taking one rad out of the loop and see what happens.

Well ambient is like 26-27 i think because its summer in Sydney AUS, so i guess its only really up to 10 degrees idling above ambient

Could it be that TIM from intel is bad? because i read a few articles on it....

Well taking a Rad out not really an option because its hardline...

Managed to drain my loop with much pain and put new thermal paste etc

Idle temps are around 32-35

cinebench around 64 degrees but thats with motherboard at 38 and PCH at 44 so 8 degrees lower than i tested last time all around?
Not sure if it could be the cooler itself or if its normal

Tested after gaming PCH at 48 = cinebench 62-67

What do you think should be a normal idle and load temp?

Well it's an improvement so that's good...

As for normal idle temps, 32-35C is bang on perfect and well I guess 62-67C isn't bad as bad as it idicates as your ambient temps are roughly 5-10C higher than the average 20C~.

To be honest, maybe those temps are fine, maybe due to having a soldered HS on my 5820K and ambient temps anywhere from 5-20C (mostly 10-15C) I think my average load temps in my mind is a little off to what it should be so...ermmmm :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

What? As I said, there seriously is nothing here :)

A D5 should be enough for that amount of Rad space. Also if it would be flow related, his GPU temps would also be higher.

May try cleaning your CPU block.

Very easy way to find out, disconnect the last hose before the reservoir and see how fast it pumps.

Is the CPU before or after the GPU in the loop?

How hot does the fluid get? Is there a noticable difference before and after the CPU block? Before and after the GPU block?

I'm running an i7 7700k (OC'ed 14%) with the EK-Supremacy EVO block and my idle temp is 75F, ambient temp is 65F. Stress test I've seen it reach as high as 137F.

My loop:
EK-XRES Revo D5 > GPU > Mobo (chipset) > CPU > RAD > back to step 1. Pretty basic. My RAD is 480mm though.

I know its a PITA to keep draining your loop but I would also take a close look as well if for no other reason but to verify its all good.

And at the same time I might institute a drainage system into your loop.

  • 2 weeks later...

its got a drain valve and stuff at the bottom but the only thing is theres double rads between the CPU block which is a PITA to drain to get the CPU out.

My temps are similar to High on Rice with CPU on about 35-38 and motherboard at 38 PCH is same so maybe its a CPU TIM thing? like delidding the CPU might help?

High rice, what is your ambient temp? like room temp
