graphics card for video steaming

I am building a media pc, i already have a old i7-4790k, and 16 gb ram.

But I dont have a graphics card to go with it.

I need a card that can do 4k, 60 hz, hdr.

It just needs to stream video, so gaming is not the focus.

The 1050 also supports HDR, but not sure it can run 4k video without problems.

The 1050 shouldn't have any issue with just playing back 4K

Dont think they support HDR.

i think the Kaby Lake iGPU is the first to support HDR (at least some of the HDR standards, like Rec2020)

it also supports some 10 bit standards like HEVC Main10 and VP9 10-Bit (but only decode, not encode on VP9)

Yeah, but it requires him to get one of the new CPUs + a motherboard with the right output. Its easier to just get a GPU.

Yes, because it makes sense to have a 4 GB 1050 and a 3 GB 1060

1050 is 2Gb and 1050Ti is 4GB, if I havent missed any versions.

Yes, technically it's the Ti, but regardless, there's a 4 GB "1050" if you need it, and I don't think he will
