How is ultrawide support now?

MekaStrix

Hi,

So was just interested in how good support is for ultrawide now it's been out a while. I personally don't expect ultrawide to ever have perfect support but I am trying to decide between a 3440x1440 ultrawide or 3 MG248Q 1080p 144hz monitors note that I wont be useing surround for gaming just extra space for productivity

I got an Acer Predator X34 in the march of last year and I have had no problems with unsupported games ect. Most big developers now will have options for 21:9

I had 1080P Before so would be hard for me to say. I have a GTX1080 and can run BF1 maxed out >60FPS

Ok I will have to do some searching which will be best for me I play alot of racing games and overwatch and CS:Go so for CS ultrawide might not be the best option but Racing games ultrawide looks pretty cool :D I also like to have my discord chat up whilst I play and sometimes a stream.

Been playing with ultra wide for 5 years. It's always been good for me. It's the only way I can play bf games but I have that up when bf1 came out. With that games optimization, my CPU isn't up to the task.

Main RIg Corsair Air 540, I7 9900k, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero, G.Skill Ripjaws 3600 32GB, 3090FE, EVGA 1000G5, Acer Nitro XZ3 2560 x 1440@240hz

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

Well this is triple 1080 so you might have some leeway with 3440. Even on a single 1440 my CPU can't handle the games poor design. The gpu was pushing the frames out through, easily over 100 fps between med/high settings with the triple.

which do you find more practical the triple 1080p screens or single ultrawide?

Well I didn't have a choice back then. Price came out the same as a gaming ultra wide of  today. Everything is better for the ultra wide gaming wise. I would still need an additional monitor with it though.
