Not the old Pentium 4s

Any modern processor can game! It just depends on what you want it to do. If you want an Atom to play Ashes of the Singularity, you may want to cut your expectations back, for instance.

the i3s are a tiny bit faster but for how much more they cost its not worth it. Skip all the i3's if you dont get the pentium and go for a proper quad i5 or i7

They can mostly but not all games such as Battlefield 1! (well maybe at 30fps?)

yep they sure can, but dont expect much from them, like expect the game to run and be happy that the fps counter is above 0

Depends on the game, pentium IIs can "game" too if by game you mean commander keen.

Hell yeah they can, g4560 is best low budget cpu imo. If you ask about iGPU on them tho then it's different story but they can actually run many of games on low 720p 30 fps

The G4400 isnt the kaby lake chip, that one is the skylake pentium which doesnt have hyperthreading. To get a pentium with HT you need a G4600, G4620 or the G4560. Also a 1060 or a 470/480 would be a good pairing with the pentium.

Of course they can game. Just because they are more of a budget chip doesn't mean that there's no use for them as something like a temporary placeholder until you can get something like a Core i7. You can game on them just like any processor that's relatively modern. Even a Core 2 Duo can game, and I'm running one in my current gaming rig (I'm waiting for Ryzen).
