Help building my first gaming PC ~1100$

Hello everyone!

I wanted to build my 1st PC, and i need help of course. Its really hard for me to decide, i will list some parts that i thought of and you tell me what to change.

Keep in mind that i will MAYBE do overclocking in future, this is my first build and i don't want to risk it. I would like this PC to last me for some years, and when the time comes for upgrades i was planning to do overclocking.

Because this is my first build, and because i am new to this. I have not specified brands for most of parts, and that is because i don't know which is good/bad atm. I want this PC to last for a really while, but at the same time to keep withing budget. Which, i know, is hard for you guys. So sorry for asking too much! Also, it will be for 1440p maybe?

First of all i was planning to keep build in range of 1100$

  • CPU: intel i5 6600k or i7? I am that kind of guy who will hit my head in the wall and cant sleep at night if i get i5. So you kinda really need to convince me about this one, its my main problem
  • GPU: Nvidia gtx 1070
  • Motherboard: capeable for overclocking, which? No idea
  • Storage
    • 1TB HDD,
    • SDD 120-250GB,
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Power supply: The one that wouldn't fail on me, so no idea on that one too
  • fans: because of overclocking, i want good ones, they don't need to be really silent, but then again i don't want to have some kind of submarine in room.

  • Casing. Now i have been thinking about this one for days. This is the kinda least important one but i want it to look good. Is there some kind of casing that have glass window on right, and motherboard on left side? I have a weird corner desk, so i wanted to set in to my left side and to be able to see that shiny new GPU. But if they cost much or dont have good airflow or whatever, then recommend me normal one with side window on left side

I was also planning to get this monitor, which is 1440p, but i don't really know if i will buy it right away or not, i can use some of my older monitors, so you don't need to include it in budget

  • Acer g257hu smidpx 25-inch wqhd (2560 x 1440)

I think its a really cool one, some of the guys recommended me this, its 1440p and a really budget friendly.

Whew that's a long post! Sorry about that, i kinda wanted to include much info as possible. I just joined here so i don't know much.

If i missed something (which i most likely did) feel free to tell me!

Have a good day!

EDIT: Added some things here and there

EDIT 2: Thank you all for your kind responses! I really appreciate it!

Since your build is pretty close to good I'll just comment on it.

The Freezer 13 isn't a great cooler anymore, grab a Deepcool Gammaxx 400 for the same price and it's better than an NH-U12S.

There's Gskill Ripjaws 4 3000MHz kit for a couple dollars less. Grab it (memory speed matters)

The UV400 SSD is really bad in terms of performance consistency, change it for a PNY CS1311 that costs $64.99

The NEX PSU is really mediocre for its price. There are good options that are better and cheaper, like the Rosewill Photon 750W for $74.99

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Damn prices change fast. Switched the SSD to a 250GB SL308 because if OP's gonna pay $75 for an SSD, might as well get the best one.

Petty sure it does. 7700k is $344 vs 6700k at $329 and the same goes for mobos. saving up 15 bucks here and 20 there will eventually rack to an amount that can get you a better Graphics Card or something right ;) btw (your opinion matters to me dude)

You're talking about a completely different processor that doesn't matter here. The 7600K is $240 and the motherboard I chose is $117. That's the same price for higher clocks.

Wow that is... A lot of responses and i really didn't expect this much.

So you are saying that i shouldn't worry about i5 processor huh? I guess you are right, i wont be doing video editing or something like that.

I should get 7700k one right?

Also @Blackhole890 i'm from Serbia, so some parts will cost or wont be available to me i guess, but i will handle that somehow, which parts to get is the main problem :D

no, you should get 7600k, because 7700k is the i7 and costs 100 bucks more

if there's no kaby lake yet, get skylake 6600k
