I'm planning on getting giftcards for my friend's birthday. Though I don't know which company I should buy. I know Amazon has much more things available. However, my friend would be most likely buying electronics anyway. What do you guys think? Which company usually has the best price for electronics. Things like computer parts to peripherals. Any input is appreciated!

Amazon or Newegg. Bestbuy doesn't have much electronics and their price are often overpriced.

Best Buy also prices matches basically everything.

I have Amazon Prime and I still prefer to buy from Best Buy because it's much easier for me to drive to a Best Buy and return something if I don't want/like it. Plus I can get and be using whatever I buy within an hour rather than waiting 2 days.

Of course, if Best Buy doesn't have what I want, then I'll buy it from Amazon > Newegg > NCIX > Other, but still, I prefer Best Buy.

But then Amazon offers more product.

Customer: Hey I want a price match on this Titan X Pascal I found on Amazon

BestBuy: We don't sell them

I use amazon a lot but some things are better in person so it depends.

i kinda like to joke about "best buy" being closer to "worst buy" in terms of electronics.

that said, if your friend is in seattle with you, amazon is the way to go, if he doesnt have prime yet, make him discover the wonders of on demand energy drink deliveries.

I vote Amazon because if your friend wants to spend this gift card on a dildo, on amazon they can and on Best Buy they can't.

It depends. What type of electronics? If you are talking general electronics like TV's and such, then go Best Buy. Why? Because they price match and actually give an option for insurance and accidental damage. You won't get that with Newegg or Amazon. If they are in the market for specific things like MSI 1080 or something crazy, specific, then Best Buy might not be the place.

Amazon b/c I don't have to pay tax on amazon and sales tax for me is almost 10%.  It has to be a steep discount for me to buy anything at Best buy or my other fav store Microcenter. that or I need it now or its a low cost item.  I have bought 1 item from best buy in like 3 years.  Amazon is delivering things almost daily for me.

Toilet paper, Red bull, Snacks, and many many other things.  just in case you ask.  I have a bunch of the dash buttons.
