Best Budget Mini Video Tripod

Geekazoid

Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you can recommend a good mini video tripod. Something that can sit on top of a table for when I want to just sit my video camera on a tripod but not have to get out a big regular tripod.

The video camera I use is the Canon Legria/Vixia HF G10 (quite a good camera BTW).

Any help would be much appreciated.

My budget is around AUD$50 (USD$47 | GPB$30) but could stretch a little if need be.

The difference between "video" and "photo" tripods is the head, not the legs. It sounds like your camera is going to be stationary, and given how lightweight camcorders are, you'll happily get away with any old photo tripod. I know Slik make some cheap and dirty options, and you can probably find them at JB Hi Fi or Big W.

I probably should've stated but I already have a Inca tripod that will be primarily for my EOS 700D DSLR so I'm just looking at a good small table top tripod.

How good are Gorilla Pods though, could they hold a half KG camcorder?

Yeah there are various different Gorillapods supporting up to 5kg http://joby.com/gorillapod.

Another one to look at might be this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/799983-REG/Cullmann_CU_50081_Copter_Mini_Tripod_with.html

Supports just over a kg and can apparently pull of some slider type shots on smooth surfaces:
