Unles you want to get a single Titan X (Pascal) there isn't a better option....

Well given that the only GPU that can compete with the 1080 is the TitanXP, those are pretty much your only options if you wanna go balls to the wall.

As far as which variant of 1080 to get, go for whatever looks the nicest to you and/or fits your budget. Given the look of the build and your comments, I assume the budget isn't too big a concern here.

The different 1080's will all perform similarly to each other, with the only difference being clock speeds. The advertised clock speeds mean nothing anymore as (almost) every card will overclock itself past its advertised speed anyway with GPU boost (given thermal and power conditions allow). I am a huge fan of the Gigabyte G1 Gaming variant cards due to their massive coolers, and the GALAX HOF cards are seriously badass as well. I'm sure others will recommend ones from different vendors as well.

EDIT: just noticed you have the gigabyte g1 mobo, it would pair nicely with the g1 gaming 1080...just sayin.

added something.

When in doubt, re-format.

No cooler can beat the Hybrid though ;)

Totally agreed, but the temp on my g1 gaming 1070 hasn't gone above 65C under full load while running at 2060 MHz so I'm totally happy with that!

When in doubt, re-format.

The G1 Gaming cooler is the second best IMO... I love my 1060 G1 Gaming, under 65C while running at 2025MHz without any tweaking whatsoever!

Thats what i was thinking. This corsair air 240 is small and i think a titan pascal will cook in here, m too afraid to do a custom water block setup

Fans stacked for looks 4 now was going to sandwich with the all in one hybrid later lol

Thank god.

Whew... I am so relieved. I like single, powerful cards, over dual GPU set-ups and there is no hassle associated with it.

No concerns of PSU requirements, airflow, drivers, etc. Just plug and play. So I'd be looking to wait for a 1080ti or going with an XP.

Stacking fans on fans looks cool w/ thermaltake rings however i run 100% and it sounds like a vacuum

The stacked fans will make far more noise than a single one. They will cause turbulence for each other, all in all, terrible idea without a rad sandwiched between them

At the end of the day, it does look pretty cool though.

When in doubt, re-format.
