OBS lag problem?

Hey guys, ive been getting into making videos lately and im recording with OBS right, but everytime i use OBS my fps drops alot. It lags alot and impossible to play.

OBS uses up a lot of cpu. look at processes and you will see what I mean

It will help if you told us what games you're playing, settings ingame and OBS settings.

I play Overwatch on Ultra. Then OBS has all the default settings

Only Overwatch? So you're recording in 1080p and playing 1080p? That's too much for your i5. You'll need to change the setting in OBS, at least 720p 60fps. Also calculate the bitrate you'll need for 720p.

Your CPU is to weak catch up, OBS is a very CPU bound programm since video streaming=> RealTime data/video compression is a very intensive workload together with an multiplayer FPS(=60+fps wanted frame rate) it is not a miracle you have constant dips.
