im not the biggest fan of it but i dont mind it being a thing as long as there is non rgb versions aswell as i agree i dont want to be forced into buying rgb for the sake of it. keyboards are already expensive enough

personally i think we have razer to balme as there the first ones to start putting real weight behind there chroma branding and synapse software then coolermaster just took it way to far i dont think theres anything they sell thats not rgb in there "gaming" range aswell

I lurk a lot

But that's an extreme example of RGB that I admit, should not exist.

Anyways, it is just what you guys think. I like RGB, but overusing it is bad for esthetics which I pay a reasonable attention to(maybe more than resonable... xD). You can buy keyboards, mice and especially head sets without RGB backlit. It's not that someone is forcing you to buy the RGB shit. If you don't like it then don't buy it. Buy this mice without RGB backlit there are plenty of them ;) RGBs are great if you want to match the color of your build and that is what I use them for ;) Well, that is what I will use them in my next build, since it would be hard to match the color of my build right now :/

TL;DR

I like RGB. No person on Earth is obligated to like it. Plenty of non RGB stuff on the market.

Main Rig - AMD Ryzen 1800X @ 3.9 - NZXT Kraken X62 - MSI X370 SLI PLUS - G.Skill TRIDENT Z RGB 16GB 2667MHz - 2 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX1080 WindForce OC - NZXT S340 (Purple-White) - OCZ 120GB, Seagate 1TB - Corsair RM750i 80+ Gold - SAMSUNG S24D590 24", HP L1950g - Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum - Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum - Creative Cambridge Sound Works + two random Philips speakers, Logitech G430 headset - Win 10 Pro x64

Retro Gaming PC - ASUS T3

Server - HP ProLiant DL380 G6(Currently assembling it) - 2 x Intel Xeon E5520 2.26GHz 8MB Quad Core Processor

NAS - Zyxel NSA320S 2 x Seagate Constellation ES 2TB(RAID1) - QNAP TS-212 1 x 500GB

RGB in a keyboard? Sure, I like backlit keys in the night.

RGB in a mouse? A bit pointless since my hand is covering it.

I almost never look at the lighting inside my case and even get annoyed when I go to sleep and get dazzled by this stupid lightning I cannot turn off.

But to be honest, as long as there are options for people who do not want lighting I do not care at the end.

true that there are non RGB product,

but the trend I see nowaday is pretty much RGB everything

and i call the example a RICER PC

Ricer came from the term used in Car culture

Honda Civics with huge wang(slang for wing), bazooka fart cans(exhaust pipes) and RGB neon lights and the biggest rim that you can fit and oni(demon) cambers

xD right?

Razer started it, Corsair just followed up and eventually more people will...

Its funny that if Razer shows something "different" in the industry, others try to do it just the same or better ehe. Its like theyr Apple of peripherals/computers w/windows.... Oh wait....

I don't mind rgb being trendy right now, I just want to products without it and don't want to have to pay extra for something I'm not going top use. Which in the land of motherboards seems to still be a doable thing.

On the flip side of that, if it's a good powerful product with features I like or want, I don't really care if its covered in rgb lights just give me the option to turn it off or leave it a solid colour

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

Lets say there is 8 classic color for keyboard light if corsair release a keyboard with only blue color light they are only covering 1/8th of the market interms of color having RGB allows corsair to cover all 8 category with only a little extra cost.

same here , i mean most go "oh you can just turn it off" , well thats nice an all ,

but its still more expensive for a feature that im either not using or do not want

same w/ "thermal armor" on motherboards or backplates on gpus ,

nice, now my components are getting even worse cooling and are going to die faster , thanks for that

I hate the RGB trend. I've not watched a single one of the LTT videos (or any other videos for that matter) from CES that had RGB in the title or featured something that was RGB.

In my opinion, if you want to light your case that's fine but pick a color scheme and stick with it. My build is going to be red, blue and purple so I don't need RGB to get the effect I'm after.
