I recently found an old Apple Mac Pro (2,1) that someone threw away.  I checked it out and everything works.  What I would like to do is build a server using the 2 CPU's and a server motherboard,  Would it be able to run Windows Server 2016?  The server is just for home use as a personal fileserver.  I have a genuine copy of Server 2016 through my school, I just need to know if it will run on these CPU's before I go out and find a MOBO and memory.

It should tho, the cpu should have x64 support so in theory it should work.

I'm not exactly sure tho... Maybe try the trial version first, you should be able to download it from microsoft for free.
