So the wife wants a computer built. Now she always complains about the size of my full size Corsair C70 case so I figured I would build her a mini ITX.

This is my parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4csbyf

This is my very first Intel build ever so I just had a few questions.

1) PC parts picker says "Some Intel H110 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake  CPUs."  I'm not seeing any mini-ITX boards with 200/1001 chipset..so is it going to be a crap shoot as to whether I will need to update the BIOS to accept the Kaby lake CPU? Am I going to need to have another lga 1151 processor to do this? Being that this is my first intel build its not exactly something that I have lying around...

2) Does anyone have any experience with the AData SSDs? I have yet to use and AData components so I don't know anything about them. I got a kingston SSD for my current build and it failed about about a year and a half and don't want to go through that nightmare of restoring to a new drive but I also don't want to fork over the big bucks for a top of the line SSD.

Welcome to the forum!

You'll have to wait a bit before buying a motherboard that will support Kabylake out of the box (that's from the previous generation), as they'll sell out their old stock and then the new stock that comes in will have the updated BIOS. If you're ordering online it can definitely be a bit of a gamble.

Honestly though if you're going with the older gen motherboard I'd just pick up a Skylake chip anyway.

They're all right. I'd probably go with a Kingston if the price isn't much more, the Hyper X or Savage drives are usually pretty reasonable.

Only a couple dollars more.

I'd consider going up to a 240GB SSD though, they perform quite a bit better, and with the savings on the PSU below come out to about the same price build wise.

Nice build! Looks pretty solid.

I'd consider this for the PSU; https://pcpartpicker.com/product/DPCwrH/seasonic-power-supply-ssr550rm

The only difference is semi modular, but if you don't plan on going with custom sleeved cables you'll never notice the difference.

Any particular reason you went with that cooler over something like the 212 EVO or H7?

I did go with the 6500. The evolv is the case she picked out for the color scheme and over all look. The 27" screen is def needed due to her eyesight she needs things a bit larger.. the R9 fury looks a but overkill for wow but if it would help the over all....

Honestly I was looking at clearance in the Mini ITX case.

It'll easily fit. The Evolv ITX isn't that small of a case.
