My 2560x1440 isn't showing that

Okay so lets start with my resolution, well my monitor is 2560x1440, it says that i'm currently on that resolution but i'm not, I can see an outline of where my computer screen ends. I made a picure showing it.

http://prnt.sc/dqs4g1

So the red shows where my screen ends, and it's clearly not 2560x1440,

http://prntscr.com/dr5nwc it even shows on that website, that I am not using 2560x1440. My question is how do I fix it, and why does my nvidia say it is. http://prntscr.com/dr5ojq (Also this is not because I use two monitors, because i just put the second monitor yesterday, and the day before that I still had that issue)

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB

Are you using Display port or the HDMI 2 connector on your monitor?

Unless your monitor supports HDMI 2.0, you're not getting 2560x1440@60 through it... You need DP or DVI.

So you're saying that I can only get 2560x1440 if I use a HDMI 2.0 cable, or a DP or a DVI cable? Correct?

There is no HDMI 2.0 cable, only 2.0 monitors and GPU outputs. Which monitor is it?
