My s2011 Build

icsd08063

Mornings from Greece,

Well, recently i upgraded my first PC build, going from s1156 and Core i5 760 to s2011 and Core i7 3930K, keeping some stuff from the first build.

So, my current build consists of:

Intel Core i7-3930K

Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5

Coolermaster V8

G.Skill Ares 32GB @ 1866MHz (10-11-10-30)

Gigabyte GTX460-768I

OCZ Vertex 2 SSD 60GB

Western Digital 640GB CaviarBlack SATA3

Coolermaster Silent Pro M600

Coolermaster CM 690 Pure Black Edition

In addition, i am using 4 x Arctic Cooling F12 fans (2 of them are PWM), 24pin/8pin/2x6pin white extension sleeved cables by BitFenix Alchemy Series and front panel black extension cables by NZXT.

Also, i installed a white sleeved led kit[/url=http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/case_accessories/sleeved_led_kit] by ÎΖΧΤ in the case window.

Back look of my case

Well, yes, GTX460 is an old GPU. But considering that i am not a gamer, the only "heavy usage" of GTX460 is the dual monitor configuration with a Dell Ultrasharp U2311H and a Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM.

You should change the red LEDs in the V8 to match the blue color scheme. Everything else looks nice and clean.

@TicTac, @josh_05

Thx!

@Nit3Rid3R

Well, the 690 case and the V8 cooler were from my previous built with the Core i5 760. And, personally, i love those simple clean lines of this case, so, i decided not to replace it.

@byalexandr

Nice suggestion but it's kind of pain now to disassembly the cooler. I'll keep it in mind though :)

That looks VERY clean and beautiful, kinda surprising how much difference replacing the 8V with a liquid cooler did to the aesthetics. How's the SoundBlaster Z? Do you think it's better than something like a D2X?

Thank you!

Without being a sound expert or sth, i believe Xonar DX2 is better than SoundBlaster Z. Maybe some sound guys can help you more on this issue.

Well, here i am with some final changes regarding my tower.

MSI GTX760 2GB added, OCZ Vertex 2 60GB replaced by OCZ Vector 128GB and a WD RED 2TB added. I also added a second Dell Monitor (U2312HM & U2311H now) and waiting for my third U2312HM one.
