I recently installed Win 7 onto my pc on a new ssd. I was super excited until I received this BSOD

Tell me what you need to know and I will try to get you any more info that you need. Also, Overclocking was not an issue as Win 10 ran fine for months with no issues on this machine. I but everything back on default just for $h!ts and giggles. Win 7 will not find any updates and I have tried to install all the drivers, etc. but I know there are things missing. Update gets stuck on searching for updates. Please help me! I promised this would be done yesterday but I keep running into this roadblock. Thanks in advance.

Instructions for frustration management:

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

If it's an lga 1151 board, your safe solution may be to revert to Windows 10.  Skylake isn't natively compatible with W7 even though a lot of mobo manufacturers try to offer backdoors on installing it.  Aside from that, here is what I would try:

Download all of your motherboard's support drivers (either on that machine or on another one - you could put all your drivers on a flash drive).  If the manufacturer has device drivers specifically for Windows 7 then download those drivers.  Disable automatic updates for the time, and disconnect any USB devices from your computer (besides the keyboard/mouse).

Go into safe mode w/ networking.  Uninstall all of your device drivers in device manager, and all of your overclocking software (it may not be the overclock itself, but perhaps the software no agreeing with W7).  You basically want to get that Windows 7 installation as vanilla as you can.

Then incrementally re-install your devices to eliminate what may possibly causing the error.  Once you have it where everything is recognized in device manager, and you have successfully tested the system in this state, you can begin to re-enable automatic updates, and start adding back your usb devices and overclocking software.  Add one thing on at a time as your doing this so you can actually identify what may be causing the bsod.

It is on a z97s Krait Edition SLI MSI motherboard. No overclocking software has been downloaded. I have been fiddling with outlook for a while. Other than office and outlook it is very vanilla and some drivers refuse to install because I do not have all updates on windows. This is another issue. Windows will check for updates for hours and never pull up anything. I just installed this the other day, fyi.

I think Windows Update hanging could also be driver related.  Disconnect everything you can from the PC, uninstall every driver, etc.  If your Windows installation also didn't include the service pack you could try downloading that through your browser first.  WIndows Update can take a long time on a new installation too.  I've had it take a few hours before it actually came up.

There's also this how-to on fixing a hung up Windows Update, which I admit I just googled for.

I have not unistalled the drivers 100%. I am so tired of messing with this (plus I am tired in general) so I am going to do a clean install and just see if that helps. I must admit, I am not in the best mood. So.... yeah. Also, I tried all that on how to geek. I think it just flipped me off and told me to go &*&# myself. Who knows. I also have a feeling that when Windows stopped doing some support on Win 7 it just hasn't been playing nice..... conspiracy thought.... if anyone cares. :P

I hear ya.  There's a point where you would rather just start fresh again.  It'll probably be quicker.  The other variable is your SSD, but it doesn't sound like the kind of issues a new SSD would give.

I've had Windows Update just refuse to work on some test VMs recently.  Haven't done a 'real' Windows 7 install in a few years.

I saw a cinderblock with a piece of paper that said "place forehead here". Where did I see it!?! So far I have not gotten jack. I will probably leave it and comeback to it tomorrow.

I might clone the drive to a hdd I have and see if that is the issue. Who knows. Only one way to find out.

After much frustration, a lot of sleep deprivation, and using my very colorful vocabulary, I reinstalled and found a solution to my problem of not updates.
