So I have a 4690k with a 970 and 8GB of memory. When playing GTA I will sometimes freeze for a few seconds and then everything will continue as normal. Im finding this strange as non of my friends are having this issue yet their systems are lower spec then mine. I'm not sure what the problem could be as I've lowered the graphics but the problem is still happening.

You could try updating the graphics drivers. I'm not sure if that'll help, but it might.

Monitor your memory when it occurs (MSI Afterburner). I've just made a seperate thread about my issues with it's memory usage.

Probably swapping memory at those few seconds, since you have less avaiable memory than me.

What you're looking for is system memory or graphics memory dropping after the freeze. So going from 3,5GB to 3GB after it. Or from 7GB system memory to something like 5 or 6 GB.

So when Im playing my memory usage is on roughly 80% but it never goes up to 100%

But how does it behave dynamically. Do you see it drop a portion all of a sudden whilst continuously playing.

Same for the VRAM.

Are you running it from a mechanical hard drive?

I would of put it on my ssd but I dont have enough room so therefore it is on my hard drive

That could very well be the problem... Try lowering the texture settings and draw distances.

Sarcasm?

Nope. Really, GFE turns gta v in to a stuttery mess. For me and many other people.

does this include a cure that can erase lag at certain places in GTA V? like i have a stuttery problem but it happens at certain places only.

If we're talking frame drops, then probably not.
The stutter that it does solve is the microstutter when driving, pausing for half a second and then resuming. Not just when driving but mostly.
What specs do you have and what settings are you running? Grass is a big killer in this game and post processing.
But most of all, the extended distance scaling in advanced graphics settings.

But i'm curious that every place that i go didn't lag & didn't have frame drops. But when i go to certain places like where is lots of cars and pedestrians. I've already reduce the Population Density & Population Variety in the settings. I'm using i5 6400 + 8GB + GTX 1060 6GB G1 Gaming Gigabyte.

Uninstalll and test. maybe it will help you. Although as I said, it doesn't sound like the stutter the GFE brings in, although the shit this software causes never ceases to amaze me. Example I get stutter with gta v and in the new need for speed game, I fall through the map every couple of minutes.
Removing the software fixes both issues for me.

Someone else on here was only getting 24fps if I remember correctly and again, down to this software.
So give it a go, there's no harm in trying. If you see no improvement, then just reinstall the software...if you want.

Also, what about the advanced settings, using any of those?

Yea maybe i should give it a go. i think i should tweak my settings, but for now mostly i'll be getting 60 fps with Vsync is on. i think my eyes are just too sensitive when the framerate drops like 45-50 FPS.

Just check advanced settings mainly extended distance scaling. Turn that all the way down.
Shadows, put on soft, not nvidia pcss.
Post processing put to high or very high if on ultra.
Grass put to high if you are using any higher.
