Headset / Headphones + mic combo

Hi!

I'm looking into buying a new headset or headphones+mic, so what would you recommend me for a price up to about 120 $? I can go over it if you really think it's worth it. I will use the headphones for gaming and music and I am in no way an audiophile and know very little about audio and headphones specs. I will use the mic to talk to friends via skype/discord. Also, how do I know if I need to buy a sound card in order for the headphones/headset to work properly? Just notice that my pc is a Lenovo prebulit and I don't know the motherboard model and its integrated sound card. Thanks in advance

For the sound card question; you can plug literally any headphone/earbuds into your motherboard and it will work but the problem is, it might not be used to it's full capacity because the integrated mobo sound isn't the best. Just buy some gaming headphones and not the super expensive ones for hardcore music/whateveryouwanttocallit listeners.

Oh, sorry. I guess it'll be best to check the manufacturer's website for some info about the headset. If you're buying a headset with a USB connection then I think it would be fine to plug it into basically any USB that was made this decade. Also, I've heard that HyperX and Steelseries might be some good companies that make gaming headphones. They aren't that expensive and you can find some for $100.

and if you're just doing some normal gaming and music listening, you don't really need to buy a sound card. I would recommend to just try your headphones on in the integrated sound then decide from there if you actually need a sound card.

All in one solution: Kingston HyperX Cloud 1.

Why? cos Cores doesn't come with accessories, Cloud 2 comes with an extra crappy USB dongle. They are exactly the same unit with minor changes on the exterior & accessories they come with.

Headphone:

-ATH AD500x + modmic (this combo will be around $130 +/-, but are awesome for gaming, treble oriented, lacks bass, great soundstage, although be wary for the fit tho, not everyone will like the wing headband)

-SHP9500 + V-moda boompro (this combo will be around $100 +/-, great headphone for the price, almost similar like the HD558 but cheaper, better than majority gaming headsets out there).

Those 2 headphones are open back so they leak sound in and out of the headphone.
