FANS FANS!

Hello world! Happy new year!

I have this NZXT H440 (white) with this positiveness air flow (attached below).

The ones coloured in purple is currently blank at the moment, I want my components to stay cool as I want then to last. Would I be wasting my money by filling those with fans? If not, what fans should I buy and should the air going inwards into the case or out?

Many thanks! (Apologies for the crappy MS Paint diagram)

At fist, the MS Paint diagram is fine and at least 95% better  than other self made diagrams in the net :D

And for the topic ... LTT has some references for your question

TL;DR most likly yes to ad 2 more fans in the top is probably a wast of money

I think the setup you have now is great.  I don't see a need to add any additional fans in the top two fan locations.  As long as all four of your intake fans are filtered, I'd keep it exactly how it is now.

It never hurts to experiment a bit, but I doubt that you'll see any thermal improvements by adding anymore fans.

Your current setup is perfect imo, leave the purple part blank

You can add two more case fans on the top to help exhaust the hot air out. The intakes bring fresh air in but without an exhaust helping direct the air then it is more or less just building up inside the case. Having those extra fans will help direct the airflow through your case. It will help pull hot air from the GPU upward because the top of the case will be at a lower pressure than the bottom of the case.
