Svchost.exe problems

There is a problem when I switch on Windows 7. After around 5 minutes the CPU decides to ramp up to 50% usage because of svchost.exe which is a part on Windows and I'm pretty sure malware or something got onto it what do I do?

This is windows trying to install an update that you probably interrupted by shutting off your PC.

Leave it for a few days and see if it goes away.

Try malwarebytes. This same problem plagued me as well. I too was using windows 7. Run a system scan
