Hello,

I'm having coil whine problem that my GPU (MSI GTX 1080 8gb) crying physically and through my headphones when it's under load, running game or benchmark.I know limiting fps is fix, but that is not an option for me.I heard that it caused by power supply.

My current power supply is :

(EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2, 80+ GOLD 850W, Fully Modular).

Question:

What power supply should i replace this with so i can fix my problem?

Thanks for the Support.

It's not the power supply. It's the GPU.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

if you hear coil wine with your headphones... your GPU is the problem, rma if you can... if not, some transistor/s is dead and need a replacement...

Performance without style, there's no point. :-)

Sorry for any bad translation on my posts, im from Spain and speak a medium level of English... if something is wrong, please ask me for a better explanation. Thank you!

For the record, hearing whine through your headphones (like the audio itself is whiny) can be instantly cured by plugging your headphones into the motherboard's audio port and not the one at the front of the case, which is a cable that has to travel throughout the system and touch all your system cables and lots of plastic and metal and whatever else.

Also, the G2 is not likely the thing causing your GPU to coil whine.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
