19 pin DP vs 20 pin DP?

lolpwnd31

Is this still a huge issue? Like if I go to my local retailer will it be likely there's a 19 pin DP?

As found via a little Googling, apparently connecting the 20th pin feeds 3.3v back into your GPU, which can cause damage over time if your GPU is not protected from such voltage feedback.

No idea, my DisplayPort cable is from MonoPrice and it's working fine so I assume it's a non-issue these days.

Only time will tell though, so 50% RIP my GPU, 50% not RIP my GPU.

You mean 50% of the time it would be cool, and 50% of the time it would be uncool.
