Oh ok did not know that. So the lga 2011 and 2011 v3 are physicaly different?

yep

Hello everyone i was looking at the ASRock X99E-ITX/ac mother board and i did some reasearch. Looking at asrocks cpu compatibility list for the motherboard Here i saw that it supported the xeon e5-2670 v3 but not the e5 2670. The cpu i am interested in pairing with this mobo is the e5-2670 and it is one of the few lga 2011 cpus not compatible with this motherboard. Could i make the motherboard be able to support an e5-2670 by flashing the bios to a different version or dowloading "hacked" or modified BIOS?

X99 motherboards are 2011-3 not 2011.

the physical socket is different, you will need a lga 2011 without the -3 board to use the e5 2670, x79 is lga 2011.
