Hey guys, It's been a while since I visited the forums. But ive been needing some help with choosing a new keyboard to replace my G710+ which has been my daily driver (or typer :P) for around 2 and half years, I like to replace my peripherals quite often to try new things out and I feel its time to replace the ol' G710+

One thing I've been on the fence about are other manufactures own key switches like Logitech's romer-g or Razer's cherry mx clone, so I would greatly appreciate opinions on those.

Budget isn't an issue, I'm not too fussed about ergonomics so the keyboard doesn't need to have a wristrest, I don't need macro keys either, I am however interested in something that has RGB lighting so I can match colours with the rest of my setup.

Well I haven't tried too many things, but I can say that the corsair K70 w/ mx browns has been a delight for the last year. I don't have the RGB version, but one of my good friends does and we both have nothing but positive feedback. Media keys are great, and especially with VLC's ability to have global hotkeys, even in game I can control my music, and the volume wheel is amazing. Corsair's customization app is well-reviewed, and they have ALL the Cherry switches to choose from.

Ducky shine or one rgb? they come in Cherry MX switches and i personally love the reds :D

If non RGB, it's better to go for Topre boards, they are comfy to type on...

Don't topre use their own switch? I've never had any experience with it.

Yes! Once you go Topre, you will never go back... They are soooooo light and comfy as per my experience :D

Note: I meant the switches not the board itself lol

K70 RGB is probably what you want. Razers switchs are incinsisten and feel shitty and i havent tried the Romer Gs to say if they are any good but Cherry browns are great and the K70 is IMO the best keyboard around if you dont need macros

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
