You can do that and it will work fine, but id just use the second output on your gpu. It won't improve performance noticably.

Not really. You could crossfire them if you have AMD for both CPU and GPU, but not like that.

It will work fine, and is a support config from nvidia.

Really? cool. I learned something today!

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

It's not for a performance thing, I'm doing a more "artistic" I suppose you could say build that includes a second monitor in the case, so I'm debating on whether to direct wire the motherboards or the GPUs. I'll probably go with the GPU

Depends on the mobo. Mine does have that feature that allow multi monitor from both gpu and igpu

Yes, I am running it like that with no problems for 2 years now.

GTX 1060 with my 165Hz 1440p and i7 4770k with my 60Hz 1080p.

You literally just need to plug monitor into onboard graphics and turn on computer and it will work (in my case it worked like that on W7 and W8.1 and W10).

Why would you need to, though? It's not like a second monitor slows down your GPU or anything.

yeah but it's 1 or 2 frames who cares
