Ive been having problems with my computer for a while. as in it wont boot. A friend of mine says it might be because my ram is very picky in what motherboards that it works with and the speed that it runs at. Anybody else know anything about this? I just want to double check

Can you go into more detail... did you have an overclock, does it give you error codes, does it not do anything, does it come on for a few seconds with fans full speed and shuts right back off. Do case fans turn on and run normal if you unplug the 24 pin and CPU power?

Very unlikely, RAM is one of those things that just needs a compatible (DDR3/DDR4) slot and it'll work

It does however happen to be one of the components that is improperly installed/arrives doa but if the computer boots normally most of the time then the ram isn't the likely culprit as it would likely not boot ever if the ram was defective. (thus the above is true) Also my experience with G.skill ram makes me question claims that it is picky as they seem like solid sticks.

Do you get blue screens at times as well?

no bluescreens ever. It will turn on and off continuously. No display output either. I can get it to boot SOMETIMES with only one stick of ram in. I RMAd the motherboard (though im not sure they actually did anything as i got the same mobo back with the same box and all, and they had horrible customer service)

Well does it boot with either stick or just one in particular, as it could be the ram (but likely only one stick based on what you just said) Also does it matter which ram slot you use

It does kinda matter it seems. Ive only gotten the first 2 (closest to my CPU) to work. and i believe it does only work with one stick. I have 2 more sticks in the mail. having 2 stick in wont cause issues will it?
