Intel Skylake CPU and a GPU? For $300-$350

ellwoodj

I'm currently buying parts for my first ever PC. I have bought my Z170 Motherboard so the CPU needs to be skylake. I was wondering what CPU and GPU would pair nicely for 1080p 60fps+.

I have a combined budget of $300-$350 no higher in any way.
NVIDIA or AMD
I will be using this PC for mainly gaming, but for educational and entertainment purposes.

Skylake CPU + GPU = $300-$350

Any advice?

Well i don't think you would need anything higher than an I5 6500 and the new RX 460/470/480 is pretty solid.

a 6600k with a rx460 you can oc the cpu but this is very cpu heavy

or

i5 6500 and a rx470 balanced can't oc though

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/masterkickass7/saved/#view=t3qmGX

can't oc but a more balanced system

or buy a 6600k or a 6700k and wait and buy a rx470 one you have more cash

well being that you have a Z170 board it wouldn't make any sense to NOT get a 6600k, otherwise you simply overpaid for a board that is more then what you need, the problem is by the time you get the 6600k and a CPU cooler you don't have enough in the budget to get a video card, so that means dropping to a locked CPU  to get the budget for the video card, I would say try to wait till you can budget another 50-100 pounds so you can pair the 6600k with like something between a RX470 and a GTX 1060 6GB

well it's pretty important, because 300-350 DOLLARS would put you in like the i3 6100 with either RX470 or 480 price point.
