Can a PSU survive 6 MS (Micro second) without power ?

maria2244

lets say you have a gaming pc with a Seasonic G650

with a 1000VA 700 watt UPS

that UPS needs 6 MS to switch from line to battery

can the PSU survive and keep the PC on even while gaming until the UPS kicks in ?

yeah of course. that's almost no time. only the shittiest PSUs will not be able to survive something like that.

6 microseconds = 0.000006seconds

I have a UPS, not a very high end one either, and have never had an issue when it kicks in due to a power outage (or me testing it buy unplugging it from the wall).

They are designed for this purpose exclusively so I think you should be good.

When in doubt, re-format.

Yes proberbly but you would have to test it before relying on it to keep your data safe.

agreed 100%.

It wouldn't be much of uninterrupted power if it didn't actually work.

MS is MEGASecond. 1,000,000 seconds.

mS is Millisecond, or .000001 seconds.
