Changing mobo fixed battlefield 1 fps issues

Disketa

I decided to replace my b85m-g with z97 to overclock my i5 4690K for battlefield 1 (100% cpu 60% gpu), and it turns out i didnt even have to, because after changing the mobo, my game runs smooth at 60fps with no drops, before it was dropping to 30fps.

What was causing the drops then? I am just curious

My specs are: gtx 1060 strix

.                       I5 4690k

.                        16gb ram ddr3

One. Frame. Per. Second.

Yikes. ...so if the new mobo fixed it, maybe the video in the old one kicked the bucket or was on its very, very last limb.

Did you do a fresh install of Windows?  It could've been something software related.
