Extend m'y wifi

Hi guys i live in a big appartement and i want to extend my wifi. I have a ethernet cable that go from the main router to the place where i want to extend my wifi.

So i don't know what i should buy to extend the range. I wanted to buy a second router but i don't think my phone, computer etc... will switch automaticly between the two routers. Cpl is not an option.

You don't need a whole new router (that's expensive man), I'm sure someone here can recommend a good wireless AP. Also you could buy an external network card with a more powerful antenna. Some years ago I bought such a solution from alpha networks, and suddenly all the networks in a 500 m radius was in range.

Auto switching between the two is going to be tough. There really isnt a set standard for "Roaming". The best option if have 2 of the same Wireless Access points. But even then, your mileage will vary. So clients are just sticky and prefer one access point to another. 

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

You can either use an old router(or a new one) and use it as an access point, or simply buy an access point. If you want to know how to use a router as an access point check our my post here
