Im just wondering if i could use a normal 3.5 as a trigger cord

Most likely yes, but it really does depend on your product. Each company does it a little different. For example, my Emotiva amps can use a stereo 3.5mm cable for trigger. My Crown XLS will not function with a stereo cable. It just shorts the circuit.

Why don't you give it a try? You won't hurt anything by trying.

Yeah, no reason you wouldent be able to.

EDIT: just try and see. It should work.
